Day 49 - April 27
Week 18.
40 days remaining.
Today marked the start another training block. The plan is to build for three weeks leading into racing in Germany.
The day started with activations to get the rhythm going again. Rollers felt familiar, but the LeMond was where something stood out. All three of the sprint efforts hit my 95 rpm cadence target with ease. My legs and mind felt fresh. The recovery over the last couple of weeks did its job.
I jumped on the track in the afternoon. No help from the moto today, but I knocked out several 350m sprints. Motor pacing had been a luxury I'd been taking for granted.
During each of my sprints on the track, I noticed something I hadn’t felt in a while. I found more presence in my body with each pedal stroke. Maybe it was the time away from the track, but it was the most connected I'd felt between body, bike, and track in weeks.
Time away reminds us what things are worth.
What would you appreciate more if you stepped away from it briefly?
