Day 31 - April 9

Day 31 - April 9

I’m deep into the training block. Possibly my last track day for a while. The next two weeks I’ll be occupied with a coaching course.

It’s not downhill from here yet. A gym and Lemond session await tomorrow. But that’s tomorrow’s concern. One day at a time. One day at a time.

Riding the rollers this morning felt fantastic. What made the difference was more mobility and activation work in the gym beforehand, instead of jumping onto the rollers cold.

In the afternoon we had our long 600m sprints. The efforts were demanding, but the biggest challenge was a mechanical issue on the bike. My foot kept unclipping from the pedal at the start of each sprint. I'd like to think I'm just too strong for the pedals, but a faulty cleat is the more likely culprit or some foot mechanics worth refining.

Power is the starting point. Transferring it cleanly is the actual skill.
