Day 26 - April 4

Day 26 - April 4

Last efforts for the week. What was a recovery ride for the others was a ride with three one-minute sprints for me. I felt some dread once we clipped. But the hard stuff is what makes you faster. It's always been a part of the arrangement.

Our route was flat, so Nicholas latched onto my saddle during each effort to provide extra resistance.

A minute has never moved so slow. All three sprints were tough, but I made it through and came out a little more confident and a little more sore.

Maybe it's the dopamine of a job well done. Maybe it's the tough sprints still firing through my body. Maybe it's knowing the week is over and the sunshine hitting just right. Whatever it is, this is paradise.

The weekend feels earned. I will enjoy it.

The hard efforts are part of the deal, but so is the feeling when they're done.

What's your version of paradise at the end of a hard week?
