Day 22 - March 31
We’re slowly making our way out of this freezing weather. Warmer days are on the horizon, but today is another triple-layered commute to the center.
On the menu: morning gym and track starts.
The training is doing its job. My body is feeling the fatigue from yesterday’s sprints and three hard weeks of being on. Moving through the gym warm up briskly helped shake some of it off. The rest of the workout felt energized. I lifted my heaviest squat since arriving.
After the lunch break, though, I felt another slump.
Systems are firing, but not at 100%. There’s latency in there.
Today is the most I’ve looked forward to a recovery day.
Tomorrow’s coffee ride couldn’t have arrived at a better time.
The previous road rides were a good break, but tomorrow's will be something more.
Rest is sweeter when it’s earned.
