Day 21 - March 30

Day 21 - March 30

Clocks sprang forward for Europe in the early hours of Sunday.
The effects were felt waking up Sunday and again this morning. The missing hour makes a difference.

The morning activation drills got my heart and legs pumping after the restful weekend. The afternoon session was Flying 200s.

My benchmark to beat was set last year at 11.01 seconds. That 11-second barrier has been elusive and I’ve been determined to break it this year.

I wound up for the first attempt and followed the sprint lines along the track. I knew this first sprint would lie, so I just wanted to get it done. Everything felt great, and the time the coach called out felt even better - 10.98.

I knew round two would be good. I used a bigger gear, which only meant more speed. I dashed to the finish line at 10.88. Reviewing the tape after the second run, my coach pointed out room for improvement in the approach.

Round three used the same gear, and with a few tweaks in my build-up I clocked 10.75.

Three back-to-back personal bests.

I am proud of myself, and I know there's more in there.
I'm ready to find it.

Trust the process long enough and progress will reveal itself.

What barrier have you been working toward, and what would crossing it mean?
