Day 02 - March 11
I woke up today feeling more rested. I enjoyed an omelette and oats for breakfast and headed down to the center to get prepped for a road ride. 1h30m - Aigle to Montreux and back.
Nothing too intense as it’s a mid-week recovery ride. The little bit of elevation along the route was a reminder to respect road cyclists and what climbing actually demands. The tailwind on the way back did its job, and we sailed back to the center just in time to enjoy lunch.
Last week - Week 10 - was quite hectic with preparations for the travel and my training suffered for it. Rushed sessions and a few skipped ones. It required intention, but I was patient with myself because I knew 3 months of training were ahead.
The road ride today was invigorating. Legs, heart, and mind switched on. A good way to begin.
Where have you recently given yourself permission to slow down?
